A condition I enjoy treating because we get very good results on and it’s actually – I’m seeing a lot more of this particularly the last five years of my practice – is middle back pain.
Middle back would be the area right between your shoulder blades. We’re seeing a lot of that because of right now our economy is more based on technology jobs, so many patients, so many people are at the computer. You’re at the computer at your job, you’re at the computer at home as well. And that will cause tension or misalignment in the vertebra between your scapula.
What will happen there is you can actually get an over tightness here of these muscles, muscles will pull on the spine and will misalign the spine and it will lock those bones. When you come to see a chiropractor, we can do spinal adjustments in this area, also work on these muscles that help to get these vertebra to go back into alignment.
A study was released a few years ago in the British Medical Journal and they were talking about different types of treatments for the middle back and spinal manipulation to the middle back vertebra was one of the treatments they got the best results, they got the quickest results, and in my practice I’ve seen that on many occasions.
When you have a problem in the middle back, two things – it’s muscle-related and it’s posture-related. Your Doctor should go over how to make sure you sit correctly at your computer. Also your doctor would need to get you doing some exercises and some physical therapy here to help to relax those muscles.
We do all those treatments here at Reynoldsburg Chiropractic Center. By following through on those methods of care, you can feel much, much better.
